The Formosa Wrasse Juvenile is also referred to as the Formosan Coris Juvenile or Queen Coris or Red white Wrasse. The juvenile and adult appearances of Formosa Wrasse vary greatly. In Formosa Wrasse Juvenile, the body color is orange with white tiger stripes across the back. The stripes and fins are outlined in black. As an adult, the females have a dark blue green body with black spots, accented by red on the fins, and a light-blue diagonal stripe across the orange face. The males have a light-blue body with vertical blue stripes and several green stripes on the face. The Formosa Wrasse Juvenile is similar in appearance to the Formosa Wrasse with the exception of less black on the fins. Formosa Wrasse Juvenile is the most colorful member of the whole family.
Formosa Wrasse Juvenile is a salt water fish that is found in the Indo Pacific regions. It is a medium maintenance fish and can be handled by moderately trained aquarist. This Formosa Wrasse Juvenile is a moderately hardy fish. Amazing juvenile coloration, active presence in the water column, and great personality makes the Formosa Wrasse Juvenile one of the favorites that are commonly seen in fish only aquariums. Formosa Wrasse Juvenile requires a 150 gallon or larger aquarium with a 4 inch layer of sand in which to bury itself. Thus have a tank set up of gravel or sand making fine substrate of 3-4 inches for them to burrow in, as this is where they sleep. Be sure to have some sort of covering with no large open holes that they can escape from. Formosa Wrasse Juvenile is not reef compatible.
Formosa Wrasse Juvenile is an excellent hunter and will leave no rock unturned (literally) in search of food. The Formosa Wrasse Juvenile is a carnivore and feeds on a varied diet consisting of large chunks of meaty foods. These foods include krill, raw table shrimp, squid, clam and mussel. Formosa Wrasse Juvenile readily adapts to captive conditions and accepts a wide variety of foods. It does not have any specific swimming level. This specimen is very hardy. As a juvenile the Formosa Wrasse Juvenile is non aggressive towards fish of its own size, though it is reported they may sometimes harass fish that are very much smaller.

Minimum Tank Size: The Formosa Wrasse Juvenile prefers a tank of at least 150 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. This specimen requires a sand bed of 3-4 inches in which it may sleep or hide in when frightened. Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).
