They also have a white line beginning at the top of their mouth and running back along the top of their head. Do not keep more than one Eight Line Wrasse in the same tank or with other member of the genus. When first added to the aquarium Eight Line Wrasse will spend lots of time peering from cracks and crevices. But as it adjusts, Eight Line Wrasse will begin spending more time in the open, becoming as bold as most fish over time.

Eight Line Wrasse is reef compatible and safe with corals, but this fish is a greater threat to ornamental shrimps and small snails than its congeners because of its larger size. Eight Line Wrasse will aid the reef aquarist in controlling pyramidellid snails and commensal flatworms. Eight Line Wrasse is a carnivore. It feeds on a varied diet that includes a frozen prepared food for carnivores, minced table shrimp, and a good flake food.
