The 3-Spot Domino Damselfish, also known as the Three Spot Damselfish, Threespot Dascyllus or Domino Damselfish, is so named due to the three white spots on its black body. It matures into an aggressive adult whose bright spots fade with age and will enter into a relationship with Stichodactyla species (Carpet Anemone) if one is available. These damsels are often called the Domino Damsel because of their juvenile coloration which imitates a "domino".

Minimum Tank Size: A 30 gallon aquarium or larger is suitable in size. Because 3-Spot Domino Damselfish can tolerate substandard water parameters, it is a popular fish among beginning hobbyists. The 3-Spot Domino Damselfish becomes more active and aggressive with age. Therefore, it is a great fish to grow up with larger tankmates.

As juveniles the 3-Spot Domino Damselfish have a distinct white spot on the forehead and a prominent white spot on the upper side. In a mature 3-Spot Domino Damselfish or Domino Damsel, the marks will most likely disappear or leave just a remnant spot on the side.

The Water Constraints required is high quality water with specific gravity from 1.020 to 1.025, pH from 8.1 to 8.4 and temperature ranging from 72 to 78 degree Fahrenheit.

Like all damselfish, the 3-Spot Domino Damselfish can be territorial and aggressive, especially as they get older. They can be kept together and with other larger fish but watch them closely to be sure their aggression doesn't become destructive.
