Taxonomy: Reef Haitian Anemone belongs to the Kingdom Animalia, Phylum Cnidaria, Class Anthozoa, Order Actinaria, Family Actiniidae and Genus Condylactis.
Scientific names: The scientific name of Reef Haitian Anemone is Condylactis species. One of the commonly occurring species of Reef Haitian Anemone is Condylactis passiflora.
Other common names: Reef Haitian Anemone is also commonly called as the Hiatian Anemone, Atlantic Anemone, Pink Tip Anemone, Haitian Condylactis and Condy Anemone.
Origin or natural range: The Condylactis species is found in the Indo – Pacific region, the Caribbean Sea and the Western Atlantic Ocean.

Habit & Habitat:
- In their natural habitat, Reef Haitian Anemone is found solitarily or in loose groups on lagoons or on inner reefs and hides its base in the sand or rubble with only its tentacles exposed.

- As soon as the prey touches the tentacles of Reef Haitian Anemone, the food is stung by the nematocysts in the tentacles of the Anemone. As a result, the prey paralyzes and is carried by the tentacles to the mouth of Reef Haitian Anemone.
