Based on the principle of Surface Tension, and employing a similar methodology as that of Mechanical Filtration, these Protein Skimmers allow Oxygen bubbles to pass through a column of dirty aquarium water. In the process, friction takes place between Oxygen bubbles and the Organic Waste Molecules, especially Protein, present in the water. As a result, the Waste Molecules in the water get ionic charges, which stick to the Oxygen bubbles to be carried out to the Collection Container.
